This week I had the privilege of attending a pre-screening party for a PBS mini-documentary in VRChat. This event was hosted at Veggie's Coffee and focused on the dance/club/rave scene that exists inside of VRChat. To be more specific, the documentary hones in on the intersectional communities that exist and safe spaces that have been created for non-conforming individuals and otakus. It is a community that I am new to but already feels very accepted in. Though I am only a couple of months into getting to know this group of individuals, it is still very exciting to see their hard work and creations being shown off to a larger audience. Gone was the stigma or underhanded critiques of individuals that prefer digital spaces and in its a place a genuine curiosity and appreciation for what has been created. Check it out below and let me know what you think.
